Generic Priligy contains the active ingredient Dapoxetine the first medication approved in premature ejaculation treatment. By its chemical structure and effects Dapoxetine belongs to a group of medicines called serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Dapoxetine works by increasing the amount of serotonin in the synaptic gap and improving neuronal transmission and possessing inhibitory effects of libido and ejaculation. Dapoxetine helps prevent premature ejaculation and prolong sexual intercourse.

The Priligy should not be used in cases of:

  • Reactions of hypersensitivity or allergy to dapoxetine or other components of the medication

  • Cardiovascular diseases ((history of heart attacks and strokes for the past 6 months, high blood pressure, coronary heart diseases, heart failure)
  • History of serotonin syndrome associated with SSRI's use
  • Liver failure
  • Renal failure
  • Women and men under 18 years of age
